چکیده

Abstract Predicting the forced responses of nonlinear systems is a topic that attracts extensive studies. The energy balancing method considers net transfer in and out system over one period establishes connections between normal modes (NNMs). In this paper, we consider across multiple harmonics NNMs for predicting resonances. This technique constructed by combining mechanism with restrictions (established via excitation scenarios) on external forcing harmonic phase-shifts; semi-analytical framework derived to achieve both accurate/robust results efficient computations. With known inputs from NNM solutions, required amplitudes reach at resonances, along their discrepancy, i.e. phase-shifts, are computed one-step scheme. Several examples presented different scenarios demonstrate applicability show its capability accurately existence an isola where play significant part response.

Efficient Energy Balancing Aware Multiple Base Station Deployment for WSNs

Energy reduction is one of the major problems in the design of a wireless sensor network (WSN). Multiple base stations can be used to dramatically reduce the energy consumption of sensor nodes. We consider the following problem of deploying k base stations in a wireless sensor network: Given a wireless sensor network where the location of each sensor node is known, partition the whole sensor ne...

Relative Nonlinear Normal Modes of Hamiltonian Systems

We generalize theWeinstein-Moser theorem on the existence of nonlinear normal modes (i.e., periodic orbits) near an equilibrium in a Hamiltonian system to a theorem on the existence of relative periodic orbits near a relative equilibrium in a Hamiltonian system with continuous symmetries. More specifically we significantly improve a result proved earlier jointly with Tokieda: we remove a techni...

Identifying the significance of nonlinear normal modes

Nonlinear normal modes (NNMs) are widely used as a tool for understanding the forced responses of nonlinear systems. However, the contemporary definition of an NNM also encompasses a large number of dynamic behaviours which are not observed when a system is forced and damped. As such, only a few NNMs are required to understand the forced dynamics. This paper firstly demonstrates the complexity ...

Relative normal modes for nonlinear Hamiltonian systems

An estimate on the number of distinct relative periodic orbits around a stable relative equilibrium in a Hamiltonian system with continuous symmetry is given. This result constitutes a generalization to the Hamiltonian symmetric framework of a classical result by Weinstein and Moser on the existence of periodic orbits in the energy levels surrounding a stable equilibrium. The estimate obtained i...
